Our pregnancy story

"this is the start of your sweet little story, the part where your page meets mine. No matter where your tale takes you tomorrow, our story will always read LOVE."

(the above picture was found on google and is not my image. This is temporary until I can shoot my own)

When I first saw that pregnancy stick turn positive, I knew my life had instantly changed. And not just the no-sushi, no more wine, no more heavy workout's way that is. I always thought I would be scared the moment I found out I was expecting, but I wasn't. I felt calm and happy. Rushing around town to reveal the news to Chris in a crazy, creative way was the most fun start to this journey. Seeing the tears welled up in Chris' eyes affirmed me we both felt the same way. It was like our whole lives, relationship, and marriage brought us to here to somewhere only we know. Finding out we would be parents was the fresh breathe of air I had wanted my whole life.

I knew right away I wanted to do many special things to document every moment here on out. I decided on a blog and weekly pregnancy progression shots coordinating for a book! I came up with the concept "fly, baby" organically. Through all the adversities in my own personal life the only means to overcome it all was the ability to soar through it. While taking the good in with the bad I always came out stronger. Our wish for our baby is to fly through every chapter life offers, coming out wiser, happier, and more durable each time. This is our next and newest, greatest, unexpected chapter and I can't wait to share every bit with you.

boy oh boy, we're having a BOY!!

I'm 15 weeks! Only 24 more weeks to go...

What's been going on? So obviously the most exciting new's we heard this past week was that we were 100% confirmed having a sweet baby boy!!! We are so excited to welcome our first son, Henry, into the world. I had the neatest experience ever at this outpatient ultrasound facility called, "A Stork's View". It was $69 for a gender confirmation. You get to see your baby on a big flat screen and hear it's sweet heart beat too. It truly was such a neat experience for my husband, mother in law, and me. I can't wait to go back and do the 3D sonogram with my parents! Our little one was just as calm and chill as he was last screening test. He made the nurse really work to see the goods, but we got him to finally uncross his tiny little legs and there it was, verified and confirmed B-O-Y! I honestly couldn't be happier. My husband thinks this kid is going to be his little play toy, but we know where a son's true love lies <3
We haven't officially picked the middle name. We like:

Henry George Dovel
Henry Aveson Dovel
Henry David Dovel

What's current with Baby D, C, and me? This past weekend my husband and I spent our last baby free vacation alone! We opted to head to Savannah for a little getaway before the holiday crazies set in. We really had a nice time touring the historic city, window shopping, eating pralines and watching all the local wonders. We had the best dinner at "The Old Pink House" and had a fun time on the "Hearse Tour" at midnight. We know our next parents only getaway will probably not be for a very....long.... time :) Maybe we will sneak in something before Henry get's here! ;)

I am going to another appointment tomorrow to see how well baby and mom (yippie that's me!) are doing. I always love hearing his strong heart beating. I am still pretty "small" in belly size, still looking forward to a more filled out, full look :) My jeans still fit but now I have adopted the hair tie-buckle-loop do-woop that works great. So far I have gained 6 pounds in 15 weeks.... not bad. Hopefully I will only gain 30 pounds MAX. haha... we will be hopeful :)

In other news, we are buying a house! Crazy, I know. But, our rent went up on us to a point that's not worth a 2 bedroom tiny apartment AND even though our upstairs neighbors moved out, we are just so.over.renting!!!! So little starter home it is. We just want something quaint, cute, CHEAP, and safe. We are looking at homes in Bartram Springs because the school system is great, the neighborhoods are very family oriented, the amenities are wonderful, and it's closer for chris' job in GCS. We are relying on good ole Suze Orman for financial and real estate guidance. That woman is brilliant!

Cravings?
  • anything salty... vingerary based
  • PICKLES.omg. I have always loved them but now... it's an obsession
  • hot dogs {ew gross...but lately they have been like filet to me}
  • bananas

I look forward to...
  • buying a house for our little family
  • piecing together inexpensive new/used finds to create a stylish baby pad for Henry
  • Christmas
  • May 28, 2012, when our little beeby comes!
  • this is the GORGEOUS crib I want to buy from the talented photographer Amy Barry! And if not this one, something similar. I just love the vintage accents and the sweet quaint look to it!
